What is Protect PDF?
Protect PDF adds a password to a PDF so that only people who know it can open the file. You can also decide whether printing and copying text are allowed.
Common uses
- Sending sensitive documents. Password-protect salary slips, contracts or ID copies.
- Controlled sharing. Prevent copying text while still allowing reading.
- Client deliverables. Share reports that only the intended person can open.

Tips for best results
- Use a long, unique password and send it through a different channel than the file.
- Keep your own copy of the password — it cannot be recovered.
- Use Unlock PDF later if you want to remove it.
