What is Repair PDF?
Repair PDF attempts to recover a PDF that will not open properly. It handles one common corruption pattern — extra junk data appended after the end of a valid file, often from a bad transfer — and re-saves a clean copy.
Common uses
- Files that fail to open. Try to recover a PDF that a viewer reports as damaged.
- Bad downloads or transfers. Clean up a PDF that picked up trailing data during upload or email.
- Editor-touched files. Fix a file that another program left with stray data at the end.
- Before further processing. Get a clean copy before merging or converting.

Tips for best results
- If the tool cannot parse the file at all, it tells you instead of returning a file that looks repaired but is not.
- Re-download the original from its source if you can; it is often faster than repair.
- Try opening the result in a different viewer to confirm.
- Keep the original — repair writes a new copy.
